The revolution of sustainable mobility
With the new scenario created by the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, politics and society have once again questioned the urgency of implementing measures for increasingly sustainable mobility. Not surprisingly, according to the data provided by the Ministry of Transport, 6 out of 10 Italians, equal to 26 million people, declare that they have changed, at least in part, their mobility habits towards a model that allows them to reduce their environmental, social and economic impacts related to travel.
The ecological mission of the EU
The greatest collective mission is to give people the opportunity to move freely, communicate and establish relationships without ever losing sight of the human and environmental aspects. The European Green New Deal, in fact, includes the objective of reducing, compared to 1990, greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050. The first step will be to have 30 million zero-emission vehicles by 2030 and then achieve carbon neutrality in 2050.
Italians are getting greener
European Union’s green mission is widely embraced in Italy where new forms of alternative mobility continue to spread without negatively affecting the efficiency of travel, but rather making them more ecological, faster, connected, economical and intelligent. It is therefore the advent of green mobility according to which 62% of Italians declare themselves ready for shared and pooled mobility; 4 out of 10 (40%) to use diversified means according to the needs of movement; 36% are also willing to use only ecological vehicles, while 9 out of 10 picture a world with 100% of green fuels.
Change of perspective
The attention is also shifting from possession to mere consumption with car rental services. It’s an increasingly popular and rapidly growing formula, which gives you the opportunity to take advantage of an all-inclusive fee and a wide choice of new, latest generation vehicles with zero advance. Recently defined as the keystone for a more practical, comfortable and safe sustainable mobility, long-term car rental extends all the economic and fiscal advantages not only to freelancers and companies, but also to individuals, thus freeing them from management and unexpected expenses related to the purchase of the vehicle.
The energy you need
Despite the strong market contraction suffered in 2020 by the automotive sector, the historic record of registrations of hybrid and electric cars (+ 335.1%) in Italy was reached in the first five months of 2021 alone. A real boom for these new power supplies in a sector that according to Aniasa – the association representing the Italian mobility services sector – is confirmed as the absolute protagonist with a share of registrations that rises to 42% of plug-in hybrids and 35% of electric ones. Indeed, long-term rental is a strategic element of the circular economy, thanks to a fleet of latest generation cars and the ability to place on the second-hand market every year (at the end of the contract) safe and low-emission vehicles, capable of replacing the most polluting ones and accelerating the renewal of the circulating fleet in a green key.
To conclude, sustainable and intelligent mobility not only good for the environment but is also convenient for people. Innovative, integrated and efficient transports allow citizens to save time, but also to reduce costs, both individual and collective.
